Calligraphy Centre is made up of professional calligraphers, book artists and teachers. It is also home to Cheerio Calligraphy Retreats; a premiere learning facility. Calligraphers from around the world gather to study in the mountains of North Carolina to work with the best calligraphers & lettering artists in the world.
The studio of Joyce Teta features calligraphic services such as wedding invitations, certificates, envelope addressing and other social & business types of calligraphy & special commissions. She also teaches classes in her studio. John Stevens offers a complete lettering & graphic design studio for logos, calligraphy & lettering for brand identity, packaging & book jacket design & documents. John also teaches classes at Calligraphy Centre. Both artists do one of a kind artworks by commission.

We teach calligraphy on many levels: from beginning classes, taught locally, right up to advanced retreats (in which we bring in the world's top instructors.
Teaching calligraphy and related subjects is a passion for us. You could say we believe in a calligraphy lifestyle, rather than a collection of hand skills. We hope to meet you in a nurturing, learning environment.
