Artist Retreat at Beautiful, Scenic Cheerio | October 22—27, 2017
YOU are invited to make time for yourself in an amazing mountain setting one hour from Winston-Salem, NC. For one week, you can study, work, and PLAY with other artists in a large room with plenty of space for up to 10 participants. You may bring whatever projects and supplies that you want to work with for the week.
Painters, sketchers, writers, calligraphers, and mixed media artists are invited! It’s all open studio where you can enjoy the company and camaraderie of other artists.You may bring whatever projects and supplies that you want to work with for this week. No specific instruction is provided. However, we will schedule discussion times and sharing times. Regular studio hours are 9am- noon and 2-5pm with the studios available for 24hrs./day if you want to work other times.
$595. for studio space, dorm accommodations and 3 over-the-top meals each day

Patty Pape, a mixed media artist from Winston-Salem, NC, will be the studio facilitator for this artist retreat.
Also offered is a visiting art store (www.John NealBooks.com) twice during the week. Those participating in the Artist Retreat will be invited to join any evening activities with the calligraphy students, including a Show and Tell Thursday evening.

The Fine print: Private rooms are available at Cheerio at an additional cost, with priority given to the calligraphy students. You may ask to be put on a list should a private room be available. Note that there are never more than 3 people to each dorm room.
We will have the first floor of the classroom building. John Stevens will be instructing calligraphers from all over the world in the upstairs classroom. On Sunday afternoon and evening, John Neal will have a mini-store set up in about half of the first floor space. We will be able to set up Sunday evening after John finishes selling for the day. John Neal will return on Wednesday afternoon; we will need to share our space for a few hours then.
